Job Description

Bennett and Game are currently working with a well-established transport company who are actively seeking an experienced Transport Planner due to company expansion.In this role you will be part of a small team overseeing the construction haulage sector. The ideal candidate will have excellent route planning experience with good geographical knowledge. You will also be responsible for overseeing the distribution ofgoods, driver management and have an understanding of transport legislation.Transport Planner Position Overview

Working alongside the Transport Manager to plan routes to ensure deadlines are met in the most cost-effective way
Maintain a good communication with internal and external stake holders
Ensure that vehicles / drivers are compliant and up to date with laws and regulations
Dealing with any conflicts or operational issues should they arise
Using companys telematics software to monitor driver performance, provide feedback and support team with performance goals
Using best practice processes / policies to improve operational and financial performance
Preparing quotations with an understanding of costs involved performing a contract

Transport Planner Position Requirements

Minimum of 2 years route planning experience including good knowledge of UK roads
Good understanding of Transport Management systems - Tachomaster, Fleetcheck, Vigo, Matrix Telematics, Aquarius
Knowledge of up-to-date compliance / safety regulations
An industry related qualification - CPC Transport Manager etc (Desired)
FORS (Fleet Operating Recognition Scheme)

Salary - £27k - £32k
Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm
