Job Description

Are you an experienced Development Engineer Are you looking for a new challenge and want to be part of a progressive company.With a UK based Head Office, my client has been trading for over 100 years and has over 1000 staff members worldwide working across over 20 global sites. There are manufacturing facilities on every continent. The company focuses on industrial rotating equipmentand drive units supplying every major sector. The company is going through sustained growth and offers an excellent career opportunity to work on new and exciting projects.The scope of the tasks will include technical assistance to the build and commissioning of test rig and test hardware, test and development of new transmissions and input into supporting systems and equipment such as test and evaluation planning, instrumentation,and the generation of test plans and reports as necessary.Role

  • Engineering geared transmission test systems and components.
  • Creation of test facilities and equipment for interpretation and comprehension of customer requirements.
  • Create test procedures and methodologies.
  • Strong test engineering skills, competence in transmission and test equipment build including other drive system elements such as structures, shafting, couplings, instrumentation and lubrication/cooling systems, or similar experience and capabilities froma relevant rotating machinery background.
  • Carry out/support test campaigns for assigned projects alongside operational staff and engineering group.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in an engineering development role/environment involving complex rotating machinery
  • Strong understanding of transmission technology; operating behaviour, associated components and systems, tradeoffs, materials, test regime design and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of build and test of mechanical systems. Familiarity with journal bearing technology.
  • Knowledge of rig drive, control and instrumentation systems.
