Elevation Engineering and Manufacturing are working exclusively with a world leading manufacturing business in their search for a Electrical Controls/PLC Engineer to join a growing technical team. Based in West Yorkshire, your principal responsibilitywill be providing manufacturing engineering, plc and controls expertise cross-functionally to value streams and project teams.Reporting directly into the senior team, you will work cross functionally with production and others to fault find, write software from scratch and utilise your PLC engineering experience on various software. This role will also support the engineering maintenancedepartment.The Controls Engineers roles and responsibilities will include:- Production of control and instrumentation design documentation and drawings including: specifications, P&IDs, control philosophies, instrument schedules and more- Write software from scratch and configuration with experience in PLC, SCADA & HMIs- Lead and assist with a variety of ongoing and new projects from process improvements to capital installations- Improve current manufacturing processes, equipment and work methods through Controls Engineering work- Support the business cross functionally from a controls / electrical technical perspective (Including a range of plant machines and PLC control and SCADA systems)- Coordination of specified projects from point of order to on-site installation and commissioning, ensuring compliance with, technical, Environmental, Health & Safety legislation- Determine project specifications against operational requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; reviewing bids from contractors, preparing cost estimates- Support the site from a maintenance perspective as an electrical controls/PLC technical expertWe are very keen to speak to Controls Engineers/ PLC Engineers if you have the following skills and experience:- HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, e.g. Electrical, Electronics or control Engineering.- A strong electrical control systems background as well as mechanical elements.- Experience on a range of plant machines and PLC control and SCADA systems.- Computer literacy is essential (MS Office, AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc).- Experience in designing and specifying electrical control systems and applying these to CAD/Solidworks.- Good fault finding and problem solving skills essential- A track record in PLC EngineeringElevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with engineering, technical and operational positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
