You are part of our #team and we want to see you thrive!Your role, and how youll make an impact:This role will initially focus on a greenfield mobile-first product to cater for an unserved need of our customers. Were searching for an experienced Engineer; either someone ready to make the move into a Senior Engineer role, or someone already operatingat this level. Youll have deep knowledge and experience of modern mobile application development in a digital product environment, and have a proven background in delivering native mobile apps.Youll collaborate with the team to design and build beautiful features that leverage the best of native mobile capability. Youll identify opportunities to extend and enhance Xeros development standards.Youll demonstrate leadership on best practices, and be a role model and mentor for other team members. Youll contribute to our cross-functional environment by working towards the same objectives, using modern principles and practices.Youll be encouragedto seek clarity with technical complexities and be able to demonstrate smart ways to move forward. Youll be able to make data-driven decisions that will release value early to solve Xero customers problems more effectively.You, your team and tech we use:Weve had the luxury of choosing the latest and greatest technology to build our greenfield product and fully embraced the opportunity to bake in quality and continuous delivery practices right from the get go.As part of our continued growth and investment, youll be our first Android Engineer in the UK, which will be part of a wider mobile team and embedded within one of our UK based pods to ensure autonomy. Were looking for someone who has a strong backgroundin native mobile apps. Our Android app has been built entirely using Kotlin as the language, we create views using JetPack compose, and follow continuous delivery practices with many modern testing techniques.Our code is in Github and we use birtrise.io for our CI/CD pipelines. Youll be passionate about software engineering, building sustainable applications, and continually improving our practices and technology. Any exposure and knowledge of iOS developmentwould be an added bonus and we also have an iOS application built using Swift and SwiftUI .The wider engineering team build a microservice architecture, use domain driven design to write containerised .NET Core components, deploy to AWS using Kubernetes infrastructure and work with cloud services such as DynamoDB, SQS, SNS and more.
