Job Description

Butler Rose are currently partnered with a Devon based Public Sector organisation who have a current requirement for a Senior Procurement Officer on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role has the option for 100% remote working (should this be required) andis ideally seeking a procurement professional with construction knowledge. Duties include:

  • Manage end to end procurement processes for contracts, including those that are high value, high risk and complex, to ensure successful delivery in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements, policy, guidance and best practice.
  • Utilising specialist skills, knowledge and expertise to provide commercial (procurement, contract and supplier relationship management) solutions, advice and guidance
  • To ensure compliance requirements are effectively communicated and embedded
  • Provide professional advice, ongoing support, information and guidance to staff involved in the management of contracts with external organisations to ensure continuous improvement, delivery of service and best value are maintained or enhanced.
  • To support priorities, aims and objectives through the delivery of the Procurement and Contract Management Strategy, National Procurement Policies and National Procurement Policy Statement.
  • To engage with the wider organisation to identify business needs and jointly develop and support the implementation of individual commercial strategies. Ensuring those strategies are effective, efficient, support priorities and deliver best value from allspend.
  • To implement commercial methodologies and procedures that lead to continuous improvement in commercial practice.
  • To ensure all relevant corporate policies and procedures are integrated and embedded into commercial activity.
  • To support the organisation to engage with the market including local small and medium enterprises and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector to understand needs and enable effective completion for contracts.
To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience:
  • Public sector or construction sector procurement experience
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet requirements of the role
  • Excellent influencing, persuasion, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to work on and prioritise multiple projects across a diverse range of subject matters.
Package
  • Salary range £36,000 - £40,000
  • 12 month Fixed term contract (potential for the role to be made permanent)
