Job Description

Role: Transformers and Switchgear Department ManagerLocation: DerbyshireType: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 16:30 37.5 hoursSalary: £16.50 p/hr (circa £32k). Overtime is paid if requiredKey Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Transformer and Switchgear operations to ensure the build and erection of new products is completed in line with the plan.
  • Be the first point of call for problem resolution, concerns, job instruction, materials and alike.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of Safety and Quality are maintained through the whole process.
  • Ensure target deliveries are achieved and on-time delivery indicators are improved.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements across all elements of responsibility.
  • Some elements of site work are possible although the role is predominantly based in our Heanor factory.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of working with industrial electrical products, ideally distribution transformers (11kV+) and switchgear.
  • Experience leading a team in a production environment
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to work on own initiative and under pressure
Preferably they will also be able to show experience of:
  • Level 3 Qualification, Apprenticeship or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English Language
  • Experience or qualification in Business Improvement Techniques
  • Safety Qualifications or Training
  • Team Leader / First Line Supervision training or qualifications
