Senior Salmon are looking for Candidate to become a member of the development team that primarily supports my clients Manufacturing Shop Floor systems, this position will be responsible for driving successful outcomes of internal software development projects,and contributing to support, maintenance and ongoing evolution of multiple aspects of internally-developed ERP and Shop Floor Control systems.The Role:- Execute software development projects to meet business needs and support IT initiatives- Proactively research and learn proprietary systems and tools in use, with the goal of attaining expert level in the shortest-possible time frame- Work with end users to define project specifications and complete all stages of the software development lifecycle- Communicate effectively with IT teams and the business, reporting status, progress and issues as required- Create comprehensive technical and end-user documentation for systems as new developments and updates are rolled out- Provide support to business functions and the Development team by resolving issues and executing Service Requests- Ensure all work is executed in strict compliance with my clients IT Practices Manual and legal requirements- Use tools for software development and follow defined procedures for source control and deployment, ensuring all tools and 3rd-party components are correctly licensed- Become familiar with my clients Corporate systems and IT infrastructure, particularly where interfaces between Corporate ERP (SAP/QAD) and plant-floor systems are in use- Actively seek and implement improvements in software and business processesCandidates MUST have: Bachelors degree in IT or equivalent experience 3+ years in a software development environment. Extensive knowledge of relational databases, GUI development tools and Web technologies Good understanding of structured programming concepts and methodologies Extensive IT experience with a strong focus on MES and plant floor data collection. Knowledge of networking protocols, server environments and IT security Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to analyze technical problems and propose solutions Ability to develop and maintain effective peer-to-peer and intra-organizational relationships A team-player mentality that creates a productive work environment for other team members and enhances team performance Ability to cope with stress and multiple work interruptions/context changesDesirable (but not essential) skills: Experience of Powerbuilder, Sybase ASE, C/C++, COBOL, PERL, ASP.NET Understanding of Manufacturing and Shop Floor processes and/or working in a textiles production facility Experience of PLC/SCADA/HMI Experience of financial systems and related concepts Understanding of Project Management methodologies Experience using bug tracking and workflow software such as Atlassians JIRA
