Job Description

Job Title: Stress Engineer - TurbomachineryLocation:DerbyshireJob Type: Permanent As a Structural Engineer specializing in Turbomachinery, youll play a vital role in this engineering team, responsible for driving the structural analysis process from concept to production. Youll work on cutting-edge turbomachinery designs, ensuring theymeet rigorous standards for stress, vibration, and reliability. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and safety of our products, driving towards the goal of engineering excellence.Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute analysis plans for turbomachinery projects.
  • Maintain regular communication with project leads and engineering managers to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Generate structural summary documents and contribute to internal design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on structural analysis techniques.
  • Conduct customer communications and document project requirements.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the structures discipline.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in stress analysis, preferably in turbomachinery/combustion hardware.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis methods and finite element software packages (e.g., ABAQUS, ANSYS, NASTRAN).
  • Strong understanding of solid mechanics, mathematical methods, and engineering drawings interpretation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to make technical presentations.
  • CAD experience, particularly with NX, is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and Europe.
