Job Description

The companys laboratory products are used by students and educators across the world, in over 1500 establishments in more than 100 countries.Be part of a rapidly growing, world-leading company that is now an employee-owned business where we all share in the responsibilities and successes.The role:Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Stores Operative to join our busy and fast paced Stores team.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • The work is varied, interesting and demanding. The main element of this role is to pick components for assembly kits from the stores using a handheld scanning device.
  • It is important the correct parts are picked, parts are handled correctly and no damage is incurred during this process, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while picking is essential.
  • Additional duties include carrying out driving duties, booking in of deliveries, label printing and product wrapping when required.
  • Stock organisation and stock taking is also an essential part of this role
Essential:
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Candidates should be physically fit as daily duties consist of moving and packing high volumes of stock
Desirable:
  • Previous experience within a factory, Manufacturing or Engineering environment
  • Experience using handheld scanners
  • Previous driving experience
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate

Hours:
  • 37 hours per week, i.e., 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday-Thursday (half an hour for lunch);00am to 1.00pm Friday (no lunch break)

Operating at the extreme end of high mix/low volume electro-mechanical manufacturing, we have evolved approachesthat have served the business well and now are looking for the successful candidate to drive the identification and implementation of manufacturing best practise tailored to our particular product mix and business needs.TecQuipment manufactures of over 400 different products in our site in Long Eaton, near Nottingham. We typically complete and ship around 60 sales orders per month, each of which may include multiple products.
