Job Description

Job Title: Senior IT System AdministratorLocation: UK/RemoteSalary: Dependant on ExperienceOur client is an International Geospatial Intelligence organisation with presence in the UK, United States and in Europe. In recognition of their strong brand and continued growth, were recruiting for an IT System Administrator that is ideally based in the UK or mainland Europe.Youll support the IT infrastructure for the delivery of production software, development of software & algorithms, maintaining corporate systems and improving the DevOps.ROLE

  • Maintaining and Monitoring IT infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable and continued operation.
  • Assisting software development team in the appropriate, secure, reliable and controlled deployment and orchestration of bespoke software, services and algorithms.
  • Development of custom applications to support business operations.
  • Appropriately centralising, distributing and coordinating server resources across multiple sites.
  • Securely disseminating large datasets to developers and researchers to facilitate R&D.
  • Limited travel required to various office, deployment sites and customer sites in primarily Europe and USA to support IT infrastructure.
  • Continually improving and automating DevOps processes.
  • Backing-up and ensuring data integrity for business-critical workflows.
  • Ensuring GDPR compliant data storage methods are employed.
    • Technical Competency
  • Windows Server & Linux server administration
  • Network security and administration
  • Scripting and test automation on Linux (bash, CI/CD)
  • Virtualisation and Hypervisors
  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Deployment to PaaS and IaaS providers (Azure, AWS)
  • Administration of Office 365
  • Working knowledge of database systems
  • Experience with server monitoring tools (Nagios, SNMP).
  • Knowledge of Internet protocol
    • Desirable Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) / IT Professional (MCITP)
  • Relevant linux administration certification
  • Relevant Cybersecurity certification
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar cloud certification
