Job Description

Job Title: Senior Export PackerLocation: Long Eaton, NottinghamshireSalary: £25,000-£28,000 DOEJob Type: 37 hours per week, i.e. 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday-Thursday (half an hour for lunch);08.00am to 1.00pm Friday (no lunch break)TecQuipment is the leading provider of high-quality educational equipment for engineering disciplines. An Employee-Owned Trust hasbeen set up that puts the TecQuipment employees in the driving seat of managing the companys future. An Employee Forum that consists of members of each department within the company represents the employees as the primary shareholders in the business. Twomembers of this Forum have been appointed to the TecQuipment Trustees Board of Directors.The role:From Portsmouth to Peru, our products go all over the world and the Packing Department is responsible for ensuring these products are securely packed to ensure they arrive at their destination in perfect working order. Within this role, the successful candidatewill be responsible for the following:

  • Packing of products to a high standard in line with delivery deadlines ready to be despatched to worldwide destinations
  • Measuring and weighing parcels ready for export, orders can vary in size from jiffy bags to large bulky crates or pallets
  • To assist with the smooth and efficient running of the packing facility and supporting Goods Inwards department when required
  • Dispatching orders and administration of UK courier service
  • Monitoring packing material stock levels and reordering when necessary
  • Reporting quality issues identified during the packing process
  • Maintain physical finished goods stock and stock records and perform stock takes
  • Manage the department workload and liaise with Shipping & Finance Departments
  • Loading and unloading of lorries.
Essential:
  • To be self-motivated, organised, flexible and be able to work unsupervised in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Candidates should be physically fit as daily duties consist of moving and packing large, assembled products
Desirable:
  • Experience of packing products within a manufacturing activity of high value products of varying shapes and sizes
  • Able to operate an electric pallet truck
  • Experience of MRP system (SAPB1 preferred)
  • Primary packing of goods/FLT licence
  • Manual handling/Health and Safety

We typically complete and ship around 60 sales orders per month, each of which may include multiple products.
