Together with a Local Authority in the East Midlands, Panoramic is currently on the search for a Senior Design Engineer to deliver the highways strategy for the Council. You will be involved in the Councils wide range of schemes to promote change and transformation in order to strategically develop an important sector of the Council. If successful, the post holder will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of adoption agreements relating to drainage and roads. Possess experience in the design of highways, streets, public realm, active travel, and be skilled in Civils3D and AutoCAD. Senior Design EngineerContract: 6 months (With Likely Extension) Location: East Midlands Rate: TBA IR35: Inside IR35 Key Deliverables: * You will be responsible for delivering a variety of the Councils schemes, extending but not limited to active travel, public realm, and highway schemes. * Influence and lead the preliminary design of various schemes, such as S278/38 and LTN 1/20. In addition, you will have the opportunity to design your own project and lead a team of junior staff. * Ensure legislation, best practice and the Councils regulations are followed in the design of schemes meeting technical and quality standards. * Demonstrate thorough self-checking throughout, ensuring deliverables are produced in line with the programme. * Work collaboratively with other design disciplines, maintaining integrity of the overall design. * Engage with stakeholders, external and internal to negotiate proposed designs. You will produce the specification and technical reports for proposed designs and be involved in the budget management of projects. A degree level qualification, a membership with the ICE or CIHT, and an operational knowledge of local highways, roads and active travel schemes are essential for this post.
