Job Description

This position is full cradle to grave- your responsibilities will involve developing the procurement strategy, choosing the supplier, engaging in negotiations to secure favourable terms, finalising the contract, and subsequently overseeing its managementto ensure an efficient and effective supply chain.Client DetailsThe client is a prominent player in the aerospace industry, specialising in the design, development, and production of advanced technologies and systems for aviation. They pride themselves on its commitment to excellence, continuous improvement, and pushing the boundaries ofengineering and technology in the aerospace sector.DescriptionIn this role, one of your key responsibilities will be negotiating deals and carefully selecting suppliers who align with client objectives in terms of cost, quality, delivery, management, and technology. By effectively engaging in these negotiations, youwill ensure that you secure agreements that benefit overall value.Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing procurement strategies that maximise the value they derive from our operations. These strategies will be designed to improve procurement processes, enhance efficiency, and support the achievement ofour organisational goals.Collaboration with various business units will be essential to establish and maintain a high-performing supply chain. By working closely with these units, you will facilitate seamless coordination, effective communication, and the implementation of bestpractices throughout the supply chain.To streamline procurement activities, you will also work closely with business services, delegating certain tasks to transact on the clients behalf. This collaboration will ensure smooth and efficient execution of transactions, allowing us to focus on corebusiness objectives.Lastly, as part of your responsibilities, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks related to procurement. This includes overseeing and coordinating various operational aspects, ensuring timely execution of procurement activities, and addressingany issues or challenges that may arise along the way.Profile

  • To be eligible for this position, it is necessary to have previous experience working as a buyer in an industry that is regulated or complex in nature.
  • The role requires exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a strong focus on driving value for the company.
  • A proven track record of consistently delivering results, along with a keen understanding of business and commercial operations, is highly valued.
  • A relevant degree or a CIPS is desirable.
  • The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, a positive "can-do" attitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse range of teams.
  • Having a global outlook and exposure to various challenges, cultures, and work methodologies is beneficial. A willingness to learn and actively contribute to a dynamic and diverse team is also highly regarded.
  • Strong planning and project management skills are essential for this role.
