Reporting to the Group Head of Risk and Control, you will help to ensure the effective delivery of the Groups second line of defence risk and control activities, developing constructive relationships with key stakeholders supporting their businesses withpractical advice around internal control and risk management.Client DetailsLarge Midlands based PLC.DescriptionReporting to the Group Head of Risk and Control, you will help to ensure the effective delivery of the Groups second line of defence risk and control activities, developing constructive relationships with key stakeholders supporting our businesses withpractical advice around internal control and risk management.This will include:* Ownership of the UK SOX financial controls framework, including the annual testing process and working with their businesses to remediate identified deficiencies.* Support with the continued evolution of the Groups Risk Management Framework, including with the implementation of a Group-wide Risk Management and Compliance tool.* Mapping processes, identifying areas of risk and mitigating controls, working with their businesses to design new controls and undertake the ongoing testing of the design and operating effectiveness of those controls.* Helping to facilitate the effective delivery of the Internal Audit programme, acting as an constructive link between their businesses and the outsourced Internal Auditors.* Drafting reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee* Supporting with the integration of acquired businesses into the Groups risk and controls frameworks.* Ad hoc risk and controls advisory projectsProfileESSENTIAL* Accounting qualification* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present complex messages to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.* Strong organisational and time management skillsDESIRABLE* Experience of process mapping, designing and implementing new controls.* Sarbanes Oxley experience an advantage but not essential.* Some industry experience, ideally trained in practice but will consider straight from practice.Job OfferUp to £70,000 basic, £7k car allowance, bonus, health, pension, 25 days holiday.
