Job Description

You have the chance to join a well known food manufacturer in an exciting, hands on role. As the QA Technician you will be working as part of a small team, working across their Derbyshire plant ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP & QMS management includingproduct quality assurance, food safety and hygiene standards, traceabilityClient DetailsThis leading organisation manufacture an array of products and are one the UKs leading businesses in their sector & have recently invested to grow their current site to accommodate further product introduction, & as the QA Technician you will be instrumentalin ensuring their product quality & process consistency.DescriptionYou will be working as part of a small Quality team focused on quality control & process improvement. The role will involve interaction with external factory inspectors & suppliers working towards set quality standards.Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive product quality and work closely with the manufacturing team to promote a QA culture throughout all aspects of the business
  • To motivate, train, coach and develop production operatives into a cohesive team who are challenging of practices and the working environment and who proactively suggest improvement initiatives
  • Support the QA supervisors and sites senior technical management team with BRCGS certification and maintenance
  • Direct and active involvement in customer and third-party schemes from site preparation, to preventative and corrective action, applying root cause analysis as appropriate
  • To implement quality improvements through ongoing QA assessment against known standards and procedures / policies and involvement QA panels, ensuring that business and customer expectations are exceeded
  • To be active in all areas of factory at least daily, to ensure high standards of GMP and system compliance are being achieved, working closely with the key personnel to understand and correct any areas of non-compliance, escalating and recording as appropriate
  • To play a key part in all areas of HACCP compliance
  • Assessment of raw material intake against known standards
  • To carry out identified duties as part of the Critical Incident Management Team
  • Validate and verify product compliance, safety & legality. Reviewing daily paperwork, legal process checks such as weight control, recipe validation & collection / submission of microbiological and environmental samples.
  • Encourage and help drive the sites food safety culture, to help prevent deviation in the process that impacts the safety, quality and legality of our products
  • Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures which are relevant to both the site & the working environment
  • Any other duties as deemed reasonable by your line manager or senior management to assist with the operation of the business
Working Hours: Rotating 2 Shift Pattern (06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00)ProfileA Quality Professional ideally with experience in a fast-paced high volume food manufacturing environment, as well as:
  • Experience gained within an auditing (QA) role within a food / FMCG environment
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene or higher
  • HACCP Basic Level
  • Ability to challenge
  • Full understanding of food quality processes BRC would be advantageous
  • Can thrive in a busy and high-pressured environment
  • Organised and can deal with multiple priorities
