Job Description

Summary Kedleston Hall houses a dedicated museum with over 1,000 objects from across India and South Asia, amassed by Lord Curzon before and during his time as Viceroy of India.Since 2018 the ‘Kedleston Museum Project’ has sought to increase understanding of the complexity of the objects, their acquisition and how visitors respond to them. We’ve tested ideas and approaches through temporary exhibitions and explored ways for changingthe space.We’re looking for a Project Manager to help us build on that work in a methodical and organised way. You’ll develop a detailed plan that will guide re-displaying and re-interpreting the collection in future phases. What youll be doing Over the next two years you’ll use your blend of project management, creative and facilitative skills to take us through a critical two-year project phase. You’ll use hybrid project management approaches to fundraise, resource and deliver temporary exhibitions.Your methodical approaches to evaluation, testing and learning will meaningfully engage creative partners, communities, and consultants, and evolve our thinking.You’ll then work with colleagues and partners on a spatial planning process that will be informed by your learning and developed within the constraints of a historic house. As part of this you’ll be organising and running workshops and overseeing the creationand management of an advisory panel alongside our Curators.You’ll need to establish and maintain an effective reporting system and use our project management frameworks to ensure the project stays on track, secures the resources it needs and learns as it evolves. You will have responsibility for the project budgetand ensure that it delivers good value. Who were looking for Wed love to hear from you if youre:

  • experienced in successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement, securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes.
  • a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification or a commitment to gain whilst in role.
  • a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions up to Executive level.
  • an excellent communicator, skilled at managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people.
  • a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture.
  • experience of delivering creative projects and applying or designing techniques to co-create with a diverse range of stakeholders.
