This leading UK based manufacturer of complex cast and forged alloy metal components is in a strong position following the challenges of 2020 and is now moving forward to grow strategically in 2021 and beyond. They have a healthy order book and an extensive pipeline of new opportunities to capitalise on as they grow the already multi-site, multi million turnover operation. Due to this pending success and a cash rich environment, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to be the number two to the site General Manager and lead the day to day manufacturing operations across this busy flagship metals manufacturing facility in Derbyshire. The Manufacturing Operations Manager will have a dedicated team of supervisors and team leaders reporting to them and will to identify and deliver the site production KPIs, build, inspire and lead a team, develop effective stakeholder relationships, drive continuous improvement and ensure lean manufacturing principles are applied across all the operation. You will drive continuous improvement throughout the business, define the highest standards required for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery and ensure these are delivered while effectively managing the team to enable them to deliver the site KPIs. Through engagement and collaboration, you will ensure that effective communication strategies are implemented and maintained throughout production at all levels of the team. Ideally coming from a metals based casting / forging / machining background, the ideal candidate will be a proven leader of operations and people and will have an eye for detail, attention to quality and operate on a right first time principle. Previous experience of managing a fast-paced manufacturing facility is essential and you will require a full understanding of key business areas; i.e.: Finance, Operations, Planning, Supply Chain and Maintenance with a focus on areas such as; technical/materials/yields, Approvals and Quality Systems and a good overview of planning and operational scheduling.
