Job Description

Highways Programme ManagerWe are currently working with large Public Sector organisation in Derbyshire who require the interim assistance of a Highways Programme Manager to assist their Highways programme. Over the next 18 months, the organisations Highways Service is transformingits operating model with the objective of significantly increasing its efficiency, effectiveness and improving the quality of service provided to their customers.This is a significant programme of change, involving a team of individuals with specific skills and experience in change management to ensure the successful delivery of the programme.Please see below for more details:Role Requirements

  • Manage the programme and the programme team to ensure the programme delivers the programme benefits, is delivered on time and to budget.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to identify and understand future requirements and structures needed to deliver the new service and to implement the changes.
  • Identify any opportunities to improve the service Value for Money (Economy, Efficiency and Effectiveness),
  • Prepare the full business case, including both revenue and capital funding
  • Engage with private sector service providers and suppliers supporting the delivery of the programme
  • Work directly with the Highways Programme Board members to ensure support and effective championing of the programme and delivery.
  • Engaging with and preparing presentations with elected Members
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Significant experience of working at a senior level in a large complex organisation or similar public sector environment managing transformational change projects.
  • Complete project or programme lifecycle experience
  • Prince2, MSP, PMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma or other project / programme management qualification
