Job Description

SF Recruitment are pleased to be working in partnership with a leading local and national £multi-billion turnover leader within their industry in the recruitment of a Financial Accountant.The organisation are a well known employer within the Derbyshire area and nationwide, taking pride in offering an excellent working culture alongside attractive employee benefits propositions.About the roleYoull join an established, strong finance cohort within their statutory reporting team. In this role, you will work alongside the Senior Financial Manager on Financial Accounting tasks including balance sheet reviews, group reporting, tax compliance andstatutory reporting (including working with auditors) ensuring that all reporting requirements are met in a timely, accurate and meaningful manner.This role has been designed to be flexible and provide support to the Financial Controller and wider finance team where necessary, an as such will be a varied and attractive role.Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supporting completion of periodic group reporting requirements, including balance sheet reconciliation reviews, Group periodic reporting and External stakeholder reporting.
  • Collaborate with the business to compile KPIs as required for Group and Internal reporting requirements, and implement continuous improvements of this process.
  • Support the completion of Group and Statutory audits, including external and internal Group auditor and Group finance requests.
  • Work with the Financial Accountants as part of a team to complete queries from external auditors, Tax consultants, Account preparers and other external parties as required.
  • Work with the Financial Accountants as part of a team to ensure tax compliance is monitored and returns completed in line with regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, P11Ds, PSA, SAO, VAT.
  • Provide cover to within the team to ensure all deliverables are completed accurately on time.
  • Support the control of minimum financial controls within the company and ensure continuous process reviews and improvements are implemented as directed by the Senior Financial Manager and Financial Controller.
  • Support the Financial Controller with process reviews, and work with operational managers to implement process improvements, controls and policies, to ensure key financial controls are in place to mitigate financial risks across the company.
  • Support the Senior Financial Accounting Manager to ensure all ONS surveys are responded to within the required deadlines.
  • Work alongside colleagues within Group to ensure intercompany balances being reported are reconciled periodically and annually.
About youYou will be a technically strong qualified Accountant (preferably with practice background), with strong analytical skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in auditing is desirable and however you will be required to have the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation, and cross functional. You will ideally also have experience in management reporting processes, and the completion of statutory audits, alongsid prior exposure to conducting financial policy and financial control reviews, and implementing improvements in line with industry guidelines.Attention to detail and time management skills essential, as are excellent communication ability, able to tailor style to the audience including frequent communication with senior leaders (both written and verbal)Whats in it for youAtractive salary up to £52,000 p/a alongside highly attractive industry specific benefits as well as:
