Job title: EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCHER (999 call handler)Location: Nottingham and Lincoln, East MidlandsSalary: £12.96 per hour, plus weekend and night-shift enhancementContract: Part-time and full-time hours availableAcorn is currently looking for Emergency Medical Dispatchers in the Nottingham and Lincoln areas of East Midlands. As an Emergency Medical Dispatcher, you will maintain professionalism and compassion to guarantee the patient gets the right response first time.Based within the Control & Communications Centre, you will receive telephone and radio messages from members of the public and Health Service colleagues relating to emergency, urgent and non-urgent situations, and will prioritise these calls in line with agreedprotocols and provide pre-arrival advice to members of the public over the telephone.To ensure a 24 hour a day service, you will be required to work shifts according to a rota.* Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent, including English and Level 2 qualification in Customer Services* Experience of working with the public* Excellent listening skills* Good keyboard skills and use of IT such as windows based systems* Experience of inter-relating with a range of people* Effective verbal and written communication skills* To be able to prioritise and undertake numerous tasks simultaneously* The ability to manage and support others during times of crisis - most commonly during an emergency callAn Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role, and we will assist you in this.For more information please e-mail .Acorn by Synergie acts as an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
