Job Description

Description H9 Technical Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer on a permanent basis, working with a leading Energy client who are heavily involved in the Energy from Waste and Clean Energy sector, providing consultancy, construction, and O&Mservices. You will be engaged on exciting projects covering many different construction sectors throughout the UK, including waste and power plant construction.Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer electrical distribution systems for various applications, including grid-scale installations, commercial and industrial facilities, and renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and economic analyses to evaluate the viability of energy generation & storage projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and technicians, to ensure seamless integration of systems into existing infrastructure.
  • Perform system modelling, simulation, and optimization to maximize the performance and efficiency of energy generation & storage systems.
  • Develop and implement control strategies for systems, ensuring optimal energy management, safety, and reliability.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in technologies, regulations, and industry best practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Support project development activities, including site visits, data analysis, and preparation of technical reports and proposals.
  • Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to both project and operational teams as required.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as utilities, regulatory bodies, and technology suppliers, to facilitate successful project execution and maintain industry relationships.
  • Based remotely (at home) with UK project-based assignment work as required.
  • Potentially frequent periods of travel, project, and site work.
Skills & Qualifications
  • BSc / MSc Degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the design, engineering, and implementation of power generation solutions.
  • Proficiency in system modelling and simulation software, such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems (EMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Solid understanding of grid integration requirements, power system dynamics, and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, ENA).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and practical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
