My market-leading food manufacturing client are recruiting a Category Manager - Produce to join their FMCG business. The role is home-based with weekly travel to sites across the East Midlands and a UK-wide supply base.Client DetailsMy multi-site, food manufacturing client are further expanding their procurement team, as a result of transformation and continued strong growth.DescriptionAs Category Manager - Produce, you will have full responsibility for your category across the entire group, looking after a fresh / chilled category which is supplied into the majority of sites.You will focus on total cost of the portfolio Inc. sourcing, PPV, forecasting, strategy, supplier management etc.You will work closely with the commercial team in managing the market, as well as Quality Technical and Sustainabilityvegetables sourcing across the whole business, ensuring that performance delivers against Procurement and Functional plans, targets, and strategies. To support Commercial on broad customer engagement topics, providing procurement insight and expertise oninflation recovery and cost mitigation opportunities.This role sits as part of the wider procurement team and does not have any direct reports.ProfileThe successful candidate will have a strong background in procurement, ideally with experience across fresh / chilled categories e.g. produce. You will have managed large spends across a complex, international supply base.In addition, you will have strong academics (CIPS advantageous but not essential!), be inquisitive and have strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills.Job OfferAs Category Manager - Produce based across the East Midlands, you will be offered up to £75,000 plus a car allowance, bonus and competitively matched pension.My client offer hybrid working with weekly travel to East Midlands and Lincolnshire based sites.
