Job Description

SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Assistant Payroll Manager to join a business located close to Junction 24 of the M1. The purpose of the role is to assist in the management of the in-house company payroll function ensuring that payroll relatedactivities are undertaken in a cost effective, efficient and customer focused manner, with all payrolls being processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with legislative requirements. Responsibilities include: - To ensure all payrolls are processed efficiently, accurately and are paid on time whilst working to strict deadlines. - Ensure activities meet and integrate with organisational requirements in line with company values. - To deliver a cost effective, accurate and professional service to all clients, ensuring effective customer service. - Liaise with other departments, HR, Finance, IT and all sites to build and maintain excellent working relationships. - Maintain knowledge of current legislation ensuring compliance. Reconciliation and payment of PAYE to deadlines and compliance with statutory reporting requirements. - Ensure the payroll system in up to date with latest software releases and legislation. - Deliver the reporting requirements in respect of P11d, Employer Related Securities, Directors Emoluments and the Group Annual Report. - Accurate taxation of performance share awards and implementation of Share Save schemes. - Actively monitor proposed and future legislative requirements and evolve business processes and systems to accommodate change. - Manage the auto enrolment process requirements. - Able to support team members in dealing with complex legislative queries. - Ensure timely payment to all third-party providers and that pension contributions are remitted accurately and on time. - Support business growth needs: acquisitions, TUPE transfers, divestments. - Assist with the implementation of solutions to support the transformational change requirements of the business. - Continual review of departmental processes ensuring they are fit for purpose, striving for process improvement, automation and a paperless environment. - Training & development of the payroll team, performance development reviews. - Supervise and motivate the payroll team. - Compliance with internal controls, periodically review risk register and improve processes to reduce, mitigate or remove risk. - Deliver the standards required for and support both internal and external audit reviews. - Review and approve payroll reconciliations and checks completed by the Team Leader. - Project work as required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, customer focused, knowledgeable, approachable, assertive, innovative and professional. They will also have the ability in staff supervision, procedural documentation, payroll processes and reconciliation.
