Job Description

Accounts senior, Accountancy, Accountant, Financial Services, Tax, ACA, ACCA, VAT, Permanent, Matlock, DerbyshireAccounts Senior An Accounts Senior is required by a well-respected Accountancy Firm based in Matlock, Derbyshire.The Accounts Senior will be an Accountant with substantial experience. This is an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Senior looking for personal and career growth opportunities; allowing you to build upon your experience as part of a modern and dynamic team.The Role & Responsibilities of Accounts Senior:

  • Preparation of accounts to trial balance stage for soles traders, partnerships, companies and charities with turnovers ranging from £50,000 to £2,000,000.
  • Supervising junior members of the team
  • Assisting the partners to manage their portfolios and work load
  • Corporation tax compliance work.
  • Knowledge of completing self-assessment tax returns desirable but not essential
  • Dealing with client queries.
Required Experience:
  • over 3 years practice experience
  • AAT desirable but not essential
  • Would consider ACCA or ACA (full or part qualified) with the potential of working towards managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • A positive and proactive approach.
  • A pragmatic approach to resolving situations, using own initiative where appropriate.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (specifically Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of IRIS would be preferable.
  • Experience with accounting packages such as Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, Kashflow.
  • Excellent client service skills.
