We work to ensure their voices are heard, and campaign to bring lasting change to theirlives.About the Role:Action for Children were commissioned in 2020, by Derbyshire and Derby City Councils and Derby and Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver an innovative new service. The service aims to improve placement stability for looked after children andto reduce the number of children whose emotional needs are met outside the area by delivering therapeutic interventions locally, close to where they live.Support will focus on children in care with the most complex needs and with significant adverse childhood experiences, including those with sexually harmful behaviours. The service will use trauma informed practice and attachment theory and provide a rangeof evidence-based therapies including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay, PACE and systemic therapy.The service will operate from 9am to 5pm with the potential need to occasionally work until 7pm.As a Young Persons Practitioner you will work closely with Lead Therapeutic Practitioners and provide trauma informed 1:1 sessions accustomed to the young persons needs which could include emotional regulation, identity needs, managing relationships, behaviouraland educational needs. You will be supporting young people within their placements and therefore will regularly feed into their care plans while liaising with other professionals and agencies to ensure safeguarding procedures are met at all times.You will receive monthly supervision with a Practice manager but also engage in monthly team reflective practice, here you can explore some of your cases with the guidance and support of a clinical psychologist and an experienced team of therapists and therapeuticsocial workers.The role will also require you to help set up and lead on group work and the participation of young people, which is a new and exciting development within our service.The role will also require you to support Therapeutic Practitioners with the co delivery of training.How youll make a difference:
