Established working environment Free on-site parking.Strong order book of work.Job Purpose: As a SMART Repair Technician, (SRT) you will be responsible for repairing both interior and exterior damage to complete vehicles, this is not restricted to rolling stock, but may involve work on other forms of public transport including trams, coaches, buses,etc. A very high skill level, knowledge and quality output is an essential requirement of this roll. These skills must be in line with both customer and business expectations. You will work within standard operating procedures both on your own and within ateam to ensure the performance and quality targets are achieved on a daily basis, and within a specific timescale for delivery. The roll will require a Right First Time (RFT) value of Key Experiences:Your key responsibilities are to ensure your equipment is fit for purpose and operational at the start of your shift. You should liaise with your SRT Team Leader at the start of your shift to ascertain what support is required of you for the shift. Your rolewill mainly focus on Smart repairs including but not limited to, assessment of repair, prepping of repair, application of correct media, including paint, graphics, wrap, film, etc.You will be highly skilled in using blow in painting techniques, polishing, prepping and painting both interiors and exterior work, within a highly restricted timeframe.Your skill level will have to be of a standard to cope with short and restricted deadlines in order to cover all elements of production. You should always portray a multi skilled approach to your work. You should always perform the necessary checks dependenton the tasks you are asked to fulfil. The role requires the completion of any necessary paperwork and you must report any issues to your SRT Team Leader. You are expected to read and understand all Standard Operating Procedures and work to these without exception, unless advised by management.Other duties will include the repairing of scratches, scuffs and dents for both interior and exterior parts of the aforementioned transportation vehicles. You should always paint the required components to Takt times and as per customer quality specification.Ensure the required daily workload is completed on time and to the customer and company standard. You should be flexible to work additional hours if requested by your SRT Team Leader in order to meet customer demand. You should be flexible to support othercompany and client depots and departments and carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your SRT Team Leader/SRT Production Manager in line with Department/Company objectives.Person Specification:The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail. You will have a high skill set with regard to your trade of SRT including spray painting including blow ins, surface preparation including cleaning, filling, sanding, and preparing ready for paintingetc. You should have exceptional knowledge of paint, paint processes including new or advanced techniques. You should have good communication skills and use of the English Language both verbal and written. You will be willing to develop skills ongoing to satisfyoperational requirements and be able to assist with the development and training of others. You must be able to adhere to instruction in order that tasks (customer orders) are performed and completed within required timescale to the quality and standard expectedand required. You will be customer focused, confident working on own or as part of a team, responsible, committed, and reliable. You will be required to work various shifts so flexibility with regard to working hours is required.At least 3 years experience of SMART repairs, including but not restricted to spray painting, film application, wrap application, graphics application, polish and prep and experience and paint mixing is essential for this role. Post paint inspection experienceis also essential.
