Job Description

We are inviting applications from motivated and enthusiastic candidates to join our friendly and hardworking team in Haematology / Blood Transfusion, Derbyshire Pathology (based at the Royal Derby Hospital site).This fixed term/12 month secondment post is suitable for Biomedical Science graduates with accredited degrees, who wish to work towards their HCPC registration and then complete their 24/7 competencies in order to fully participate in the 24/7 shift system. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a modern fully automated Haematology /Blood Transfusion laboratory.Please note that this is a training position and is not suitable for candidates who are already HCPC registered.You will receive appropriate induction and training so that you can participate in the 24/7 shift rota, once appropriate competencies have been completed.Our modern Laboratories are well equipped and currently include tracked Sysmex FBC analysers, Starrsed ESR, Sysmex coagulation, Beckman Coulter Flow Cytometry, Biorad Variant and Biorad HbA1c analysers and Biorad IH1000s in Blood Bank.We are fully accredited with UKAS ISO 15189. We hold full training status with IBMS and HCPC.
