Job Description

My client is recruiting a tool technician who will be responsible for carrying out all tooling breakdowns, maintaining of forming, bending and cutting machine tooling and the maintenance of tooling and fixtures for both welding and assembly.Client DetailsAn international family-owned company, providing customers with energy-saving and easy to operate solutions for heating, cooling and hot water.   • We are recruiting a tool technician who will be responsible for carrying out all tooling breakdowns, maintaining of forming, bending and cutting machine tooling and the maintenance of tooling and fixtures for both welding and assembly.
  • Problem solving of issues on production tooling, fixtures and jigs.
  • Work with production to optimise settings on tooling and machines, including tooling / fixturing improvements.
  • Keep an up-to-date spares inventory.
  • Effectively identify day to day tooling issues and implement corrective action where required.
  • Ensure all tooling is safe and production ready at the time returned for production use, following a correct preventative maintenance (PM) process.
  • Follow up repair work by seeking feedback from the production and quality departments and completing a record of all the work undertaken.
Profile
  • Time served as an apprentice in a relevant discipline and or previous experience in a maintenance role.
  • An Understanding of Turret press, bending and forming machines for manufacture of product
  • Competent in using milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, bench grinder, etc and in equipment inspection. (micrometer, height indicator, etc.),
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to follow and execute the preventative maintenance program.
  • TIG and MIG welding capabilities.
  • An understanding of CNC programming for production and toolroom machines.
  • Good interpersonal skills with hands on problem solving expertise and a proactive approach to work.
  • Full Driving Licence.
