Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for;Do you have the passion and leadership experience to lead this Oncology TeamDo you have the willingness to learn all about this speciality to support the team to deliver the best possible level of care to our patientsIf so, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and dynamic Nurse to apply for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse post on Ward 303, Acute Oncology to lead the Nursing Team.The successful individual will provide effective and visible leadership on our busy 29 bedded Acute Oncology ward. The ward provides care to patients with a diagnosis of cancer who range from being acutely unwell to requiring symptom management to end of life care, the care we provide will include the delivery of inpatient chemotherapy and radioactive treatments.The successful applicant will take overall nursing responsibility for the day to day ward environment. They will ensure that high standards of nursing care is provided and drive forward both service development and quality improvement . They will also be ensuring we promote patient safety and a positive patient experience. This role is importantly also about being an exemplar role model for the Nursing Team and steering their development and support.The post is a full time, 37.5 hours per week role.Applicants must hold a current NMC registration, and have demonstrable post registration experience with Band 6 experience in Acute Nursing. The applicant must be able to demonstrate their leadership experience.
