Job Description

Senior BuyerLocation: Derby, North West Salary: Competitive 12-month SecondmentAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Buyer - Indirect Purchasing to join our clients logistics team. This is Not just transactional buying role but would look after logistics and special purchases. You would be developing new strategies and therewill be some sourcing involved. As Senior Buyer the successful candidate should have MCIPS qualification, good commercial / financial acumen and previous experience in a similar role. This role is located in Derby and can be a hybrid role with 3 day onsiteand 2 days home working, minimal travel required as site based. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discountsAs Senior Buyer you will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement global external supplier and category strategies which will drive sustainable improvements in quality, cost and delivery. Run global and/or strategic tenders to enable these and helping to define and execute the Purchasing to Pay (P2P)solutions that underpin the strategies.
  • Supplier Performance and Relationship Management - Being Responsible for senior relationship management and business development of suppliers within their category area or business project to which you are assigned.
  • Cost and Value Management - Establish the commercial framework in which the suppliers shall operate, ensuring cost competitiveness and value improvement is achieved.
  • Processes and Procedures - Along with the regional Sourcing teams, accountable for ensuring adherence to functional processes and procedures and on-going development/continuous improvement activities.
  • Code of Ethics - Ensuring compliance to the companys code of ethics.
Senior Buyer requirements:
  • BA degree or equivalent.
  • Ideally MCIPs qualified or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering results.
  • Global outlook and exposure to different tasks, cultures and ways of working.
  • Good planning / project management skills.
  • Good commercial or financial acumen.
  • Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management preferred.
