Are you an experienced mechanical fitter looking for a new opportunity We are requiring x 2 enthusiastic shunters based out of my clients rail depot in Derby.We currently require 2 x Shunter to prepare, shunt, marshal and dispatch trains in a safe, punctual and economic manner in accordance with the rules and regulations currently in force. This role is critical in delivering an operational process to ensure thesafe management of train movementsJob Title: 2 X Shunter/Movements staff Location: Derby Salary: £13.44 - £16.00 per hourShifts: Days, Afternoons and Nights (must be flexible)Hours: 35 average a weekKey Accountabilities Include:*To liaise with Train Managers, signallers and contractor representatives to ensure customer requirements are met regarding the shunting, marshalling and positioning of trains.*Ensure personal safety and that of others at all times.*Comply with the rules and instructions, undergo proficiency assessments and attend training courses.*Carry out emergency procedures when required. *Report any unusual occurrences, unsafe practices, accidents or incidents.*Supervise the safe condition for travel of all vehicles within each train prior to departure to ensure that the operation will be safe.*Acknowledge receipt of and read all notices (including amendments) affecting your train, route knowledge or rules and instructions, maintaining competency of all personal publications.*Supervise coupling / uncoupling of rail vehicles to / from the locomotives and or each other as required.*Communicate proactively and effectively with other staff and customer representatives in the interests of customer service, operational efficiency and safety.*Wear uniform and safety clothing provided.*Maintain a safe and tidy working environmentSafety Training Requirements*To undergo training if appropriate in other skills such as power plant and road vehicle driving (desirable not essential).*Where Training has been given and competency assessed, carry out basic maintenance tasks on units.Experience:*Working in a Safety Critical Environment.Skills:*Effective communication both written and verbal *Basic Computer Skills including use of Microsoft Word and Outlook (Emails & Calendar)*Ability to work methodically, plan and organise time effectivelyFor more information about this role and how to apply please either ring Ronnie Burton at Shorterm Group Ltd (agency) on or email your CV to
