Job Description

Title: SAP Basis ConsultantLocation: Hybrid Remote/DerbyLength: 3 months (scope to extend)Rate: £562 per day (via umbrella)Note: Active SC Clearance required (used within the last 12 months)What youll do

• Provide Technical support for SAP Basis related queries - configuring, monitoring, support package installation, disaster recovery planning and management, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment.
• Scheduling and executing the SAP transport system.
• Work on small enhancements, small projects, and mutualise with project team on client account for larger projects
• Shell scripting (powershell and unix)
• Basis Database activities (RedHat, Solaris and Oracle).
• Covers SAP BOBJ and BW Administration and HANA Database Administration and troubleshooting.
• Strong SAP Basis administration skills for both ABAP and JAVA systems.
• Systems you will managed are on premise as well as in Azure
• Basis administration knowledge for SAP Solution Manager activities and troubleshooting
• Experience in various Backup/Restore procedures
• Cover technical Primavera activities on occasion
• Work with internal, external and auditors to ensure that all agreed controls are operated effectively and that mitigations are clearly documented and agreed to ensure ongoing compliance
• SAP landscape sizing may be required on occasion
• Resolution of incidents/problems for the client
• Assisting with upgrades to newer versions of the application, or annual patching
• Liaising internally with BASIS, SAP technical and functional teams, help desk and externally th client staff (globally)
• Following ITIL processes such as incident/problem and change management procedures
• Planned out of hours work will be required e.g. releases/system checks, and you will be on an on-call rota.
• Create, maintain and publish full documentation of systems, landscapes. processes, procedures and training materials
• The applicant will require at least BPSS clearance and MOD SC clearanceYou may need to attend Derby on occasion for secure site attendance - (a secure laptop will also be provided). The rest of the time you will be working remotely.

Key Skills

• Basis Database activities (RedHat, Solaris and Oracle).
• Must have hands on and recent experience in integrating SAP products with 3rd party systems, applications and tools using different tools, such as: ALE-IDocs, BDocs HTTP, JDBC, BAPIs, XML, File, SOAP. Either all, or mixture of some of these would be necessary
• SAP BOBJ and BW Administration and HANA Database Administration and troubleshooting.

What youll bring

• Experience with other virtualisation environments

• Keeps their technical knowledge up to date and has a wider understanding of the technology landscape inside and outside their area
• Experience of working within an Application Support environment to ITIL processes and Project Execution Methodologies
• Experience in change management, ideally in a multi-national company environment
• Strong interpersonal skills are a necessity.
