Job Description

This newly acquired manufacturing site is part of an innovative and energetic UK based company, who are looking for a dynamic Operations Manager, could that be youReporting directly to the entrepreneurial Managing Director, you will be responsible for helping to achieve the company’s sales turnover, on time delivery and profit targets.The role:Ensuring that jobs are manufactured correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time.Planning, scheduling and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.Ensuring that the shop floor has the correct manpower, competence, skill and knowledge to complete the work.Managing the purchasing and scheduling of raw materials.Implementation of new processes and procedures onsite - this will include overseeing the integration of the updated bespoke software system.Being part of the Senior Management team, you will also be jointly responsible for the achievement of the companies strategic and operational targets and implementing the business aims and core values at the newly acquired site.Direct management responsibility for production, planning, purchasing, engineering, warehouse and personnel.Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling workload.
  • Production control.
  • Quality control and Health & Safety processes - knowledge of BRC, ISO and/or Sedex would be essential.
  • Purchasing of machinery and other essential items required.
  • Human resources, which would involve recruitment, training, discipline & grievance, development and performance management.
  • Carry out annual appraisals, monitor and review these with each team member.
  • Creating a production team with a customer service approach - provide warp speed responses and maintain just in time deliveries.
  • Operational performance -
    • o Monitor and manage the set production KPI’s.o Achieve & surpass companies on time delivery targets.o Ensure non value-added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes using Lean, 6s, Six Sigma, and Kaizen tolls and techniques.
  • Developing a high-performance team within the following values -
