Mechanical Design Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery - CAD - £30K-£45K - Derby My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their rapidly expanding team in Derby. The company specialise in designing and manufacturing packaging machinery, automation equipment, and jigs, and fixtures.Main Duties:+ To design components, mechanisms, and assemblies (in Solidworks) to meet the needs of the Design Specification using suitable materials and manufacturing methods to achieve a reliable and cost-effective solution+ Create CAD drawings (in SolidWorks) with appropriate tolerancing and manufacturing notes following internal document control systems+ Creating BOMs+ Produce design solutions that meet customer and internal requirements, conform to safety and other legal requirementsKey Skills:+ Experience in machinery design, ideally thermoforming machinery+ Strong 3D and 2D CAD experience, using Solidworks+ Geometric and Dimensional Tolerances experience+ Strong understanding of machining and sheet metal manufacturing process+ FEA experience is not essential but desiredThe salary will be between £30,000 - £45,000, with the company able to offer more for exceptional candidates.
