Walters People are currently partnered with a leading business going through a transformation in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a 6 month FTC. The role will be based in Derby, offer hybrid working and paying up to £42k.Walters People are currently partnered with a leading business going through a transformation in their recruitment of a Management Accountant on a 6 month FTC. The role will be based in Derby, offer hybrid working and paying up to £42k.Key Responsibilities of the Management Accountant:* Produce the monthly management accounts for the divisions which will be reviewed with senior managers* Support the Head of Management Accounting in the timely and accurate production of robust monthly reporting with an emphasis on variance analysis and budget deviations including insightful commentary* Assist the Finance Business Partners in implementing processes and ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and procedures* Support others in Finance team with ad hoc requests relating to past or future performance.* Take an active role in budget planning for the divisions together with FP&A* Assist the head of Management accounts in preparation of regular cashflow forecasts* Posting journals to capture accruals and prepayments at each month end* Bank and balance sheet reconciliations * Preparation of VAT Returns for a number of legal entities* Systems and process development and optimisationThe successful candidate will have the following:* Experience of management accounts preparation, bookkeeping, accruals, prepayments and Balance Sheet reconciliations.* Excellent communication skills and organisational skills and be able to manage a busy workload independently.* Excellent IT skills and Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.* Highly competent in analysis and interpretation of information.* Highly numerate with high degree of accuracy.* You must be someone who enjoys problem-solving and have a detailed approach.* Experience within a similar role.* Part qualified accountant - currently studying towards CIMA/ ACCA qualificationRobert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
