Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly technical and experienced IT & Telecoms Solutions Architect to join our very reputable client based in Derby.Within this role you will lead the development of fit for purpose system architecture and system architecture strategy to meet business needs. This includes gathering business requirements, technical requirements and functional specifications as well as regularly assessing the current software systems in place to identify areas for improvement.To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Demonstrable experience in architecture and engineering principles (TOGAF, ZACHMAN, etc)
  • Information security management experience (e.g. CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certification)
  • Extensive experience of server hardware, operating systems and applications software
  • Experience of designing and implementing server and storage technology
  • Experience of VOIP telephony services
  • Experience of applying the principles of ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management and Change and Release Management
  • Experience of British and International Security Standards (e.g. CIS security benchmarks, ISO27001, ISO9001, NIST, PCI-DSS, OWASP)
  • Network Architecture and Protocols sufficient for solution design and implementation
  • Understanding of virtualisation technology and techniques including VMware and Hyper-V
  • A sound understanding of threat modelling concepts (e.g. Att&ck) and risk management
    • Within this position, you’ll also be:
  • Leading the development of solution architecture
  • Defining and managing the solution design and engineering approach in projects/programmes, in line with the risk appetite and strategic vision of the business
  • Overseeing and assuring the implementation of solution design in collaboration with other team members
  • Understanding current and emerging security threats and design or adapt the security architecture to mitigate these threats where possible
  • Owning and managing technical and solution risks and work to reduce and mitigate at earliest practical opportunity
  • Leading estimation efforts to rapidly develop an understanding of potential solution costs and delivery timescales
  • Working with quality and test management functions to ensure proposed test strategies and approaches are fit-for-purpose
  • Providing regular progress reports and report on key performance indicators across the department
  • Adhering to all processes and procedures for the delivery of secure and reliable IT & Telecoms services including Incident, Problem and Change Management processes
  • Contributing to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing
