Are you an organised, pro-active and diligent governance officer looking for a new challenge Due to a department promotion, we are seeking applications from experienced governance candidates who are able to work effectively in a demanding and busywork environment, to statutory governance deadlines in a professional and competent manner. Support the Governance Services Manager in all aspects of arrangements for planning and delivering meetings of the Governing Council, its sub committees as well as other boards, committees, and meetings: Prepare agendas in discussion with the GSM, AssociateDirector – LGEAS, Secretary & Registrar (“S&R”), and the Chairs of committees; Collate draft agenda packs from review stage through to final publication; Book rooms for meetings and catering as required; Assist in the production of regular, high-quality reports;Produce and keep up to date the committee annual cycle of business, liaising with the GSM to produce committee workplans; Support the Governance Services Manager in preparing the annual calendar of meetings for approval by Governing Council; Liaise with colleaguespreparing reports for meetings, ensuring draft papers are filed on time, soliciting comments from senior colleagues, and producing the folder of final papers for meetings; Draft minutes for approval by the S&R, Governing Council, and its committees;2. Maintain the Governance Services Database of governor and committee details.3. Drafting letters of invitation from the Chancellor to prospective Court members.4. Maintain the Master Honor and Court membership lists, including biography details.5. Maintain the Governance Services document repository.6. Assist with the design and maintenance of the departmental SharePoint sites to ensure that staff can easily access key business and management documentation.Person specificationEssential CriteriaQualifications• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.Experience• Proven experience of working in the governance and compliance arena and servicing committees and groups.• Significant experience of providing administrative support at a senior level in a large and complex organisation.• Experience of dealing with and responding to complex problems that require analysis, investigation, and interpretation with a range of options.• Extensive experience of producing professional standard minutes and reports.Skills, knowledge & abilities• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to continuously develop effective relationships withinternal and external stakeholders.• Ability to negotiate stakeholder requirements to plan work and manage expectations.• Highly organised with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.• Attention to detail including proof reading skills and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.•• Digital literacy and computing skills including proficiency using Microsoft Office and use of administrative business systems.• Understanding of Sharepoint design and maintenance.In return, you will receive:Excellent starting salary of up to £34,000Excellent government pension scheme30 days holiday + Bank holiday37 hour working week- currently hybrid workingFree parkingOther discounted and optional benefits on offer
