All we need from you is a desire to learn and a passion for engineering.For the last 7 years Morrisons has continued to recruit and invest in our Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme and to date we have recruited a total of 107 candidates who are either on their journey to becoming a Multi Skilled Engineer or have successfully completedtheir course and are working in one of our Manufacturing sites. We have exciting opportunity at Flowerworld Manufacturing, Derby.Our pack house in Derby uses around 4 million stems of flowers to provide our stores with 400,000 bouquets of flowers every week.Flowerworld is our dedicated flower facility. Here 460 colleagues work a single shift operation to provide fresh flowers, rosesand bouquets.During busy seasonal events like Valentine’s Day and Christmas it’s all about teamwork.Our production more than trebles to 1.3 million bouquets a week on the run up to Mother’s Day!As an Engineering Apprentice, you’ll work hands on and side by side with our seasoned engineers, mastering the art of maintaining, repairing and improving our machinery. It’s a great opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in engineering while workingwith a supportive team. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment
  • Learning about electrical and mechanical system
  • Assisting in equipment installation and upgrades
  • Participating in continuous improvements
  • Conducting preventative maintenance tasks
By the end of your apprenticeship you will: Be trained in both mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance Completed City & Guilds Level 3 in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance Have strong knowledge of food safety, compliance and processingThis is a 3 year apprenticeship scheme and will include residential block release (up to 20 weeks away from home) for studies and exams. Our apprentice scheme offers a very competitive salary and benefits packages. It would also be desirable to have a Level 5 (Grade C) in Science.You’ll have a passion for engineering and a strong desire to learn; problem solving skills and a can-do attitude will get you far in our sites with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.Why you’ll love it here
