A manufacturer of cleaning and laundry products is looking to recruit a Development Chemist / Manager to their small technical team.The ideal candidate will be competent at formulating a range of cleaning, laundry or personal care products, and will be looking to take on the responsibility for the whole lab in terms of hands on formulating, regulatory and customer/supplier contact.Key responsibilities:· Responsible for leading product development of speciality cleaning and laundry products in a range of applications including commercial catering, laundry and industrial cleaning chemicals.· Responsible for the line management of one member of staff· Working with business teams to deliver new products to market· Compiling product specifications· Assessing alternative sources of new raw materials· Carrying out practical laboratory work, complying with all Health & Safety requirements of H&S and COSHH regulations· Producing up-to-date safety data sheets compliant with current legislation (CLP) using Lycos software· Management of Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2003) including internal audits and liaising with external auditors, Quality Manuals and MDD 93/42/EEC conformance· Quality control, evaluation and testing of final products and raw materials· Working with production staff to improve manufacturing procedures and techniques· Working with the Sales Team to deliver new products to market· Upgrading the existing product portfolio by developing new innovative products· Providing customers/end users with technical support· Investigating complaints and liaising with customers and the sales teamSkills and experience:
