Job Description

Online English Teacher The organisation is looking for an experienced Secondary Online English Teacher to join their local education provision.As a secondary Online English Teacher, you will need to have experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4. Experience with SEND, in particular SEMH, would be an advantage.As the Online English Teacher you need to be willing to teach other National Curriculum subjects when required, where their subject coordinators will fully support you. This position is Nationwide with the expectation to travel to team meetings, trainingand, on occasion, face-to-face teaching with their young people when required.Experience in teaching online is advantageous but optional, as full training will be given. You will teach their young people from 1 week to a whole school year, giving you plenty of opportunity to turn childrens lives around.At the organisations’ local education provision, they offer high-quality online teaching that develops the whole pupil by adopting a therapeutic and academic approach to ensure they achieve the best learning experience. Each lesson is individually plannedand delivered by their team of qualified teachers experienced in the mainstream, SEND and trauma-informed educational needs.All lessons are live and usually delivered on a 1 to 1 basis. They teach in line with the national curriculum framework and boast a wealth of knowledge and experience in primary, secondary and alternative education specialisms. Their teachers are appreciatedfor their unique contributions and dedication, and the outcomes the pupils achieve are truly rewarding and motivating.The local education provision is the organisations’ nationwide virtual education platform. They work closely with schools and local education authorities to offer quick response flexible, bespoke, step-up, step-down education packages for children missingeducation for several reasons, such as placement changes, LEA transitions, school changes and wellbeing.They are currently looking for teachers based in the Northwest for this role.Hours

  • You will be contracted 37.5 hours a week on a Monday to Friday
  • Hours are from 09:00-16:30. You are expected to work up to 18:30 occasionally, which will be communicated to you accordingly
  • You will be contracted for 195 days of the year, plus 10 teacher training days
  • You will be paid in line with full teachers holidays
  • Please note that you will be expected to attend interviews in person, and in addition, you will be asked to complete a teaching task

Requirements for the Online English Teacher
  • Have experience working in mainstream schools and have experience of working with children with SEN and SEMH needs
  • Sensitive to the emotional and behavioural needs of pupils experiencing trauma or have SEN or SEHM needs
  • Hold a valid QTS
  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
