An exciting opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer to join a fast-growing start-up company who have VC funding from highly respected and successful venture capitalists. The company has grown from 20 people to 50 people over the past 18 months.In the short to medium term, you will be working remotely from home and when things return to normal you shall work out of the companys modern office space in Denton (East Manchester). The company actively encourages flexible working and healthy living, with a lot of the R&D team going for lunchtime walks.The first project you will be working on is a new battery powered device which uses a variety of sensors to collect information. The device stores the collected results to the cloud where the data is then processed and presented on a PC application. The devices are used in a variety of industry sectors including commercial, oil and gas, smart energy and other harsh environments.The team you will be joining consists of an Embedded Software Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and a Software Developer.With an increasing amount of customer enquiries, it is expected the embedded software team will grow further in the next 12-24 months. If you wanted to progress into being the Embedded Software Team Lead/ Manager then there is the opportunity to do so.For this role you must demonstrate good Embedded C programming skills targeting a range of Microcontrollers or Microprocessors. Experience with PIC and ARM micros is desirable.If you have developed embedded software for low power/ resource constrained devices this would be advantageous but is not essential.You will be working throughout the software lifecycle on this role, working from concept through to product release.If you want to the opportunity to work for a company going through an exciting period of transition, this role will be well suited.SKILLS REQUIRED:- Strong Embedded C programming- Microcontroller / Microprocessor programming (PIC and ARM desirable)- Serial Communication protocol experience- Full software lifecycle experienceDESIRABLE SKILLS:- Developed software for low power/ battery operated productsTo discuss this role in further detail please contact Andrew Knight or Chris Oddy at KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd.
