The aim of these areas is diagnosis, investigation and treat patients, with the aim of admission avoidance. For those patients who require admission, the AMU will admit and either discharge patients from there or transfer for ongoing care on one of the specialty wards in medicine. The Acute Medicine Team are passionate about developing and delivering a first class service. Successful candidates will have the opportunity once we are established of rotating on the AMU and the new unit which we anticipate will be ready by December 2020, so this would be an ideal time for you to come on board and develop your acute nursing skills by working with our experienced, skilled and knowledgeable team. You will be supported to develop your skills to care for a wide variety of medical patients in their care journey. We have vacancies for band 5 nurses who value team working, enthusiastic and have the desire and drive to ensure patients will receive the right care at the right time from staff that are compassionate and caring. In return, we can offer the right development and support by the multi-disciplinary team which will include advanced clinical practitioners (ACP).We also offer support from team leaders and successful candidates will be supported to progress their extended skills such as venepuncture, cannulation and catheterisation along with a structured induction programme supported by the practice development team.
