About the team:We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic clinical/counselling Psychologist with an interest and previous experience of working in services for Older Peoples’ Mental Health. This is a split post delivering community-based Psychology and Psychological Therapies as part of a Trust-wide service, providing a link to the Southwark Community Mental Health team for older people, and holding a specialist role within the Care Home Intervention Team for Lewisham.The post holder will have a varied role offering psychological interventions to older adults and their families, embedding psychologically informed formulations within multi-disciplinary care plans and also contributing to teaching of trainees and research. The Community Psychology and Psychotherapy service offers CBT, psychodynamic and systemic therapy as well as neuropsychological assessments and support to families and carers to manage behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia.The Lewisham Care Home Intervention Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary team who work with people aged 65 and above living in residential or nursing care homes and who are experiencing behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia, and behaviours that challenge care staff in the context of a person’s wider mental health needs.About the role:This is an exciting time to join our team.
