Job Description

About the team:National and Specialist CAMHS are seeking to recruit a part time (4 sessions) Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join the Trauma Anxiety and Depression Clinic.The post is within the National and Specialist Tier 4 out-patient service for young people, based at the Michael Rutter Centre for Children and Young People, Maudsley Hospital. The post-holder will work closely with senior and experienced professionals including a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, junior Clinical Psychologists, and a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The team also hosts trainees.The multi-disciplinary team provides an assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety-related mental health problems and depression, and those who are experiencing mental health problems related to the occurrence of a traumatic event(s). As a Tier 4 service, we see young people who have problems that are severe or complex, or who have problems that have not responded to previous treatment. The psychological treatment approaches are predominantly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents. The team is active in teaching, research, and consultation, as well as direct clinical work.About the role:This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the work of a thriving specialist team by

  • Leading, managing and planning the delivery of a highly specialist clinical psychology service in the TAD clinic
  • Providing expert clinical input to the team
  • Providing expert clinical supervision in the team and Directorate
  • Delivering teaching and training on evidence-based interventions for children and young people
  • Conducting clinically relevant research and service evaluation
  • About the location:The Trauma Anxiety and Depression (TAD) Clinic is based at the Maudsley Hospital site in Camberwell, London.Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill, Camberwell, less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2).
