Job Description

We are a rapidly growing land and property development/investment company based in Lancashire.As part of our significant growth plans, we are looking for an experienced and talented planning consultant/town planner to work alongside our land acquisition department and become an integral part of our future expansion. We are offering an excellent salarywith unrivalled prospects for career progression.Full Job DescriptionResponsibilities

  • Work alongside the land acquisition team to determine the feasibility of various sites and potential for residential planning gain in line with our land acquisition requirements
  • The preparation of residential planning applications including outline, full and reserved matters applications, prior notifications and discharge of planning conditions.
  • Project management of planning applications, including liaison with external architects and planning consultants, local planning authority, third parties and other stakeholders in the planning process.
  • Attending site visits/meetings to undertake assessments on development opportunities and the preparation of feasibility reports or written advice.
  • Working alongside external planning consultants in the preparation and submission of planning appeals via written representations, informal hearing or public inquiry, including writing appeal statements and attending hearings and inquires as expert witness.
  • Researching all aspects of planning policy and law as required.
  • Submission of representations to local planning authorities in relation to emerging planning policy documents.
Requirements
  • A degree in town planning and MRITP desirable
  • At least two years post qualification experience either in the private sector or local government (preferably within development - management).
  • A successful track record in the preparation or consideration of residential planning applications.
  • A competent understanding of planning law, practice and policy and its application within the planning system.
  • A sound knowledge of the processes and protocols of local planning authorities and planning inspectorate.
  • IT competency.
  • A professional manner and personal appearance.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
