OPERATIONS MANAGER - FMCGDARWEN AREA / LANCASHIREUP TO £85,000 BASE (NEGOTIABLE) + ANNUAL BONUS + BENEFITS THE COMPANY:Were proud to have been exclusively appointed as the sole agency to support a highly successful FMCG Manufacturing business located in the Darwen area who is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the business.As Operations Manager, youll be joining the Senior Leadership Team and will report into the main Board of Directors. This role requires a Operations Manager who has a good mix of hands-on & strategic management expertise to ensure that key operational objectivesare achieved.The successful candidate will be tasked with leading a multi-site operation within very close proximity with direct management responsibility for 6 department heads and indirect responsibility for circa 150 personnel. Responsible for site capital expenditure,budgets and leading projects including engineering.Youll need to have led an operation which includes the full manufacturing cycle from production, warehousing, engineering, planning, health & safety, and continuous improvement.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager who is seeking a rewarding challenge within a fast-paced FMCG business, that is rapidly expanding.OVERVIEW: OPERATIONS MANAGER ROLE:

• Full responsibility for leading all operational functions including (Manufacturing, HSE, Engineering, Production, Planning, Warehouse, Continuous Improvement), which operates across 4 sites in close proximity
• Undertaking a dual hands-on operational lead role whilst devising clear annual operational strategies. Leading a team of 6 direct reports and circa 150 indirect reports.
• Full budget responsibility for the operation including CAPEX spend
• Lead projects for site capital expenditure including engineering projects.
• Delivery of the site Operation Excellence objectives, supporting continuous improvement, streamlining processes and performance improvement
• Accountable for compliance with all business regulatory policies compliance.
• Develop and agree annual budget plan for Operations and ensuring budget requirements are achieved
• Ensure all reporting is effective, completed and escalated appropriately
• Accountability for all accidents or dangerous occurrences to be reported by the company to the enforcing authority where required by the reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations
• Support a culture of positive safety in compliance with HSE requirements

THE PERSON:

• Must have held an Operations Manager position, or similar / or above, within a manufacturing business, from an FMCG background
• A strong people leader with excellent communication skills is vital for this position
• Ability to demonstrate excellent hands-on leadership and strategic planning experience
• Must have experience of Budget Setting, Budget Management and CAPEX
• Experience within a Meat Manufacturing Environment with good knowledge of Food Hygiene and HCAPP standards is not essential but would be a significant advantage
• An excellent understanding of the engineering process would be a big advantage
