LTA / Reed Education are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a Specialist School in the Leyland area. This new role is a full-time and permanent position. It will start as soon as possible and will continue ongoing until the permanent positions are filled. The role is covering full time hours and is covering 5 days a week. This is a safe and inclusive school where pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.In this role the candidate will be providing support to KS3 - KS4 children.The role / key dutiesAs our Higher Level Teaching Assistant; your role will be to assist in providing high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and sensory experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum to a small classroom of ASDand SEMH students, aged 11-16, to enable them to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.To facilitate this, youll be expected to know and understand the Class Teachers curriculum planning and to plan, prepare and deliver assigned programmes of teaching and learning activities to individual, small groups and/or classes modifying and adaptingactivities as necessary within agreed systems of supervision.Additionally youll support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a Class teacher, and assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment.Naturally, you will take responsibility for ensuring a high standard of personal care for the pupils, carefully monitoring the health and well-being of the pupils informing the care staff, medical staff and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.Like many SEN environments; your duties are likely to vary and therefore candidates will need to be flexible and be able to lend a hand whenever requiredReed Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students and we expect all applicants to share this commitment.
