Job Description

Assistant HeadteacherDo you have leadership experience within an educational capacityDo you have prior experience supporting children with SEN/SEMHAre you looking for a new challenge and would like to step up to an SLT roleTeaching Personnel has the role for you!A secondary provision in East Lancashire is seeking an Assistant Headteacher to work closely with the Headteacher and other senior colleagues. Using leadership skills to manage the provision and to provide support to other teachers and teaching assistants.The ideal candidate will demonstrate an outstanding record as a leader and will be able to realise the ambitious vision of securing excellence in every aspect of school life.Key information

  • Start Date: ASAP (January 2023)
  • End date: Long-term - Applicants who excel in the role will be considered for the permanent position.
  • Pay: Negotiable dependent on expectations and experience.
  • Working hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, 8am-4pm).
About the role
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the schools inclusion policies.
  • Coordinate provision for children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Line manage teaching assistants and/or teachers.
  • Support the Headteacher in planning and delivering support for children benefitting from the Pupil .
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and a good working ethos.
  • Element of Teaching KS5 students in small groups
Skills and experience required:
  • Relevant and recent experience within SEMH and/or ASC education provision
  • Qualifications - Degree / QTS
  • Commitment to the role
  • Demonstrate their desire to place children and young people at the centre of all they do
  • Positive attitude
  • Work creatively
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • UK Driving Licence
