QA Technician – Darlington Our client is a growing manufacturing business supplying the FMCG sector and theyre seeking a QA Technician to join their team due to a period of further growth.Overall Purpose:The successful candidate will ensure the effective implementation of company processes and procedures to ensure the safety, quality, and legality of products throughout the process in line with legislative and customer requirements.Key Duties:• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards, reporting any issues to the Quality Manager/ Shift Manager.• Communicate all food safety issues with the relevant departments and understand the principles of HACCAP, as well as food safety risks.• Ensure a high-quality output of products and adhere to company standards.• Conduct hourly line quality assurance checks, including weight verification, labeling checks, and ensuring compliance with product quality attribute standards that are established.• Complete hourly metal detection CCP checks including the start and end of the run.• Print and sign off required labels for raw materials and work-in-progress manufacturing.• Update the hold log as necessary.• Set up the manufacturing line and complete visual checks of hygiene prior to the next run.• Sign off all phases of hygiene clean down.• Collect samples for microbiological testing.• Collect retained samples for EOL testing and retention for each product run.• Complete analytical tests on each production run for salt analysis.• Complete moisture tests on raw materials and finished products.• Input manufacturing system data such as production record, lot numbers if required.• Verify coding line start up checks.• Print production paperwork for each product run.• Operate the checkweighers allowing programme setup and end of line till roll print checks to be completed.• Complete goods inward checks against the QAS specification.• Perform daily and weekly scale calibrations, glass, and plastic audits.• Ability to explain, issue, complete, check, file, store & retrieve QA/ audit documents.Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:• Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety is preferred but not essential.• Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing is preferred but not essential.• Proven experience in a similar role is a must.The Package:• £23,920 per annum.• 3 shift rotating pattern Monday to Friday.• Pension scheme.• Employee discount scheme.• Additional benefits.
