Job Description

Location: Ideally based in the North East region within commutable distance to/from DarlingtonSalary:Up to £40k + company car/ car allowance + benefitsContract:Full time, permanent positionWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE Business Partner to join our fantastic Health, Safety & Environment team here at Redde Northgate.As our HSE Business Partner for the North, you will work closely with and support senior stakeholders across all business functions and be responsible for providing professional services, advice and excellence in health safety & environment (HSE) mattersacross the Group. Your primary goal will be to ensure legal and industry compliance throughout all locations and business activities.To complement and support our existing HSE team and businesses across the estate, our ideal candidate will be based in the North East region with commutable distance to our Headquarters in Darlington. The role will offer a mixture of office and homebasedworking but as this is a field support role, travel to other group locations will be required.Your key responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Maintaining an ongoing awareness of legislation to support and advise colleagues.
  • Promoting and raising HSE awareness and culture across business units.
  • Analysing incident data to identify causes, trends, and safe controls where appropriate.
  • Carrying out site visits, inspections, and audits to monitor compliance and support continuous improvements.
  • Supporting in the implementation of audit findings and monitoring compliance.
  • Supporting to produce risk assessments and all other HSE documentation as necessary.
  • Carrying out HSE training as and when required.
  • Conducting accident investigations and producing reports which identify causes and actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Meeting with suppliers / service providers when required to ensure they meet with company and legal requirements.

  • You have previous experience of working within a HSE role.
  • You hold a Nebosh General Certificate and at least two years post qualification experience.
  • Youre committed to further personal development training to support and improve your knowledge.
  • Youre a team player who works well against timescales and can deal with issues confidently.
  • Good communicator who can build and develop relationships at all levels, and have a sensible and practical approach to issues and problem solving.
  • You have a flexible approach to daily duties, are able to prioritise workload and use initiative.
  • You hold a full driving licence
  • NVQ Level Five in Occupational Health & Safety or a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is desirable.
  • Grad IOSH, working towards Chartered Status and IEMA level 3 environmental qualification or equivalent would also be desirable.
